Teaching and Training

We have had a strong interest for many years in medical education
and greatly value the good will that our patients have shown in being
prepared to see students and doctors in training.

GENERAL PRACTICE REGISTRARS

We are a training practice, which means we usually have a doctor with us
who is training to be a general practitioner. All our GP registrars
are fully qualified and competent doctors who have gained plenty of
experience in hospital medicine.

As a valuable part of their training the registrar may use a video
recorder during their consultations. Patients will be notified of this
before their appointment, and participation is voluntary.

The registrar may also have joint surgeries with either Dr Lee or Dr Dunn.

MEDICAL STUDENTS

We participate in the training of medical student from the Penisula
Medical School. These may be at different stages of their training.
Year 2 student sit in joint surgeries with Dr. Cronshaw and Dr. Dunn. A
few patients may be asked to have a longer interview with a student.
Year 5 (final year) students are expected to see patients on their own
and one of the doctors will come in at the end of the consulatation to
check that all is well.
