NON NHS SERVICES
Certain services such as insurance medical examinations, passport applications, insurance claim forms, private sick notes, and private referrals are not covered by the NHS. Charges are made for these services in line with the BMA recommended rates.
SICK NOTES
For the first working week, patients can self-certificate. These forms (SC2) are available at reception.
Requests for further sick notes can be handled by the reception team who will pass the information to the doctors. The sick note is usually ready for collection after 2pm the following day. If you are self-employed or unemployed , ask the receptionist for form SC1.
TRAVEL VACCINATIONS
We offer all travel vaccinations except yellow fever (which is available from Albany Clinic). Please contact reception for a travel pack which will explain what you need to do before booking with the nurse for your vaccinations.
MINOR SURGERY
All our doctors are able to perform minor surgical procedures such as removal of cysts, moles, in-growing toenails and injection of arthritic joints.
CHILD HEALTH AND VACCINATIONS
All childhood and adult immunisations are carried out by our practice nurses by appointment. All adults should have a tetanus injection every ten years.
FLU VACCINATIONS
All patients with asthma, bronchitis, diabetes, heart or kidney
disease or any other chronic health problem and all adults over the age of 65 should receive a yearly flu vaccination. Please book in for your flu vaccination in October.
CERVICAL SMEARS
This screening test for cervical cancer is recommended for all women
between the ages of 18 and 65 every three years. Appointments with the
practice nurse will be sent when your cervical smear is due.
